She keeps opening the wrong WhatsApp chat
One button with your name on her phone opens your WhatsApp chat directly, without the chat list.
What happens
She means to write to you, and the voice note lands in the family group. A photo meant for you goes to the neighbours’ chat. It is not carelessness: WhatsApp opens on a list of chats that look alike, and on a small screen the wrong row is easy to hit.
The fix here is small: a separate screen with one big button labelled with your name. It opens only your chat. The rest of WhatsApp stays as it is.
Set it up in BabushkApp
Open BabushkApp on her phone
On her phone, in Safari or Chrome, tap “Set up buttons” below. The first screen is “Quick setup”. If buttons already exist, press and hold “Setup” for a second, then tap “Create button”; the fields are the same.
Label it with your name
In “Button label (optional)” write what she calls you, for example ANNA or SON. It turns to capitals by itself. Keep it short: it is all she reads on the button.
Enter your WhatsApp number
In “Phone number” type the number your WhatsApp uses, with the country code (+1…). Under “How should they reach you?” choose “WhatsApp chat” and tap “Continue”.
Check it, then save
Tap “Check this button”: WhatsApp should open the chat with you. Back in BabushkApp, tap “I checked it — add to screen”.
Put the icon on her home screen
Add the BabushkApp icon so she starts there, not in WhatsApp (iPhone and Android guides below). To change a button later, press and hold “Setup” for a second; an ordinary tap does nothing.
If her phone is far away
Build the buttons on your phone, tap “More” → “Share setup” and send her the link. It contains your name and number, so send it only to her.
Check that the button works
- Test on her phone, not only on yours: open the BabushkApp icon from her home screen and tap your button once.
- WhatsApp should open on the chat with you, your name or number at the top. A chat list or a web page means the number is wrong, or WhatsApp is not installed or signed in on that phone.
What BabushkApp does not do
- It does not change WhatsApp or read her messages: the chat list, tabs, groups and notifications stay as they are.
- It helps only when she starts from the BabushkApp button. From WhatsApp’s own icon, or its back arrow, she sees every chat as before, and a message can still go to the wrong one. Inside WhatsApp you can pin your chat to the top.
- It is a shortcut to a chat, not an emergency, medical or monitoring service. You will not know whether she opened the app or read a message.
